Kelly Stohr (b. 1997) is a photographer and writer from the Hudson Valley whose work deals with people, generational womanhood, and travel. Chance encounters are a central element of Kelly’s art practice, whether she is working with strangers or allowing close friends to show her a different side of themselves. Among her largest inspirations are Justine Kurland, Alessandra Sanguinetti, and Nancy Rexroth.

Having made most of her art while juggling her career as a freelance copywriter, Kelly’s work is often underscored by themes of identity, stability, and longing. A central aim in her work is to acknowledge and heal from the psychic loneliness characteristic of a 21st century existence.

Kelly is the writer of a blog called The Junk Drawer, which functions as a curated collection of found images and scattered thoughts.
